El Almacén, Avila, Spain

On a rather cold day when sightseeing around Avila, Spain we decided to have lunch at El Almacen.  One advantage to going in the winter is that you can go any place you want and not have to deal with crowds.  The staff at most places is a lot friendlier due to the fact they are not so stressed by many tourists. El Almacen has great food and amazing views of the walled city of Avila.  We were lucky enough to meet the Chef that came out personally to say hello to us. The food was all great especially the deserts.  This is a place that should not be passed by when in Avila.

About Ivan Klugman

Born in New York and raised on Long Island. my Passion for photography became apparent at age eleven. I earned money waiting tables at my farter's restraurant and purchased a Pentax Spotmatic. I proceeded with photography passionately until I was sixteen when I took my first flying lesson. My photography took a back seat to my flying for many years. Now I'm an airline Captain flying internationally. I consider myself a gourmet, eating at the finer restaurants of France and Italy. I also have an interest in wine and enjoy visiting the major wine regions of Italy, France and The United States. About 7 years ago I started to combine my passions for FOOD, WINE and Photography by photographing the food and wine I consumed on vacation. I sent some of these out to be framed when the gallery owner suggested I sell these photos to others: The Photo Gourmet INC was born. I currently reside in Delray Beach Florida with my lovely wife of tens years Lori. We enjoy flying around the world eating, drinking and photographing.
